no, not Sex, but a more logical consequence of the Act … the consequence called Life.
That is what we – friend and one-time co-traveler, known by the pseudonym, theemptyhead, and me, talked (rather chatted) about. Here is a chat transcript of a very interesting chat, reproduced with due permissions from theemptyhead. Of course, compelled by the “Technical Writer” side of me, I edited the chat-lingo to make the chat more legible.
Theemptyhead says:
Yesterday I was thinking and in the drama of life, we ultimately are dissociated with positive stuff
I mean it is so easy to lose touch and its so hard to gain it back
Felinemusings says:
Yah
Theemptyhead says:
I find that I have lost touch with myself in the last one year…I am so mechanical…not human anymore
If some girl were to come up to me tomorrow and says I love u, my reaction would probably be, “Yea ok…!”
Earlier I have had a more human reaction…of surprise…etc… But now, I find myself mechanical…
Felinemusings says:
– this is a true fact of life (of feeling emotionless and mechanical)
Maybe we have seen it all;
Maybe we need an alien attack to get excitement back into our lives
Theemptyhead says:
It is not about excitement…its about feelings;
We do not feel things, we don’t stop for a moment, and take a look around.
I can now actually see where God fits into human life
Felinemusings says:
Where?
Theemptyhead says:
The basic premise of a happy life is positive thinking;
And positive thinking is sustained in tough times only when you have hope.
Now hope is only possible over sustained durations of bad times, if there is a higher power you subscribe to;
This is where god fits in
Felinemusings says:
New Age Guru
. Why don’t you put this concept on your blog.
Theemptyhead says:
Well…I am not totally convinced yet…and there are a few questions.
If god is all about hope, why is she blamed for misery? (PS: I noted the use of “She” and thought that this is another interesting matter for debate and discussion, but maybe some other time!)
Felinemusings says:
Again human tendency – easy escape routes.
We love to blame some one for our problems
This is another premise of God’s existence
Maybe that is why I am not a god-fearing person
Because I blame my miseries on karma – on myself
Past, present and future!
Theemptyhead says:
If someone is responsible for all misery then how can u trust that person with your future and base your hope on that premise
Felinemusings says:
See, the point is that “God” is only a term. Its a term to a psyche, an emotion, an escape-route, an ideology, a way of life, a hope, a fear.
So God is not an “Identity”; not a person/thing/force who will change your life in the future.
God is our own invention, in our way of life, of handling things.
Its all about universal energy!
Again we come back to your concept of positive thought -
Affirmations, good feelings, good words create a positive energy around you; positive auras – its God;
And similarly, negativities create negative energy, illness, ill will, depression – its the Devil!
That is how I see the whole God philosophy – so ultimately, when you are positive, you have hope and then you have God
Theemptyhead says:
But u know…in the process of not believing in this supreme being, you actually get stuck somewhere in a No-Man’s land…between the God and the Devil
Felinemusings says:
Yes, that’s exactly what all religions tell us; Isn’t it?
That our sojourn on earth is temporary.
Bad deeds take us to hell/life after death/retribution – the Devil
And good deeds lead us to heaven/nirvana/enlightenment – God
It’s not about A SUPREME BEING
It is about “BEING” – which is you, which is me, and we make our own heaven and earth, and sometimes we seek our own Gods and make our own Devils
And the whole package deal is called life.
rather LIFE ON EARTH – SANSARIK JEEVAN
Theemptyhead says:
All that s fine…. my point is….there is a No-Man’s land;
And its not the earth as we know it.
I like the idea of God = positive thoughts; and the Devil = negative thoughts
but there is something between the two…and its very disconcerting to be there
Felinemusings says:
Yes, that is us – that is life – Life is disconcerting!
That’s why since time immemorial man’s aim has never been to continue living this life
Its always about ATTAINMENT and ENLIGHTENMENT; about finding something else, beyond.
And let me tell you one thing, each man’s God is as personal as each man’s Devil.
We make our Heaven and Hell and thats why we feel like we are in No-Man’s land
Because instead of enjoying/facing the Heaven and Hell that we create, we are seeking another Heaven and Hell, in another dimension, which is just not there.
Till the time we do not feel at home in the life that we create for us we will always be in No-Man’s land
Theemptyhead says:
But there s that feeling of something is missing – a Void…
Felinemusings says:
Because we are in that “QUEST” mode – we are seeking Heaven and Hell beyond our own.
And yes, there are other aspects, like Change, which is a prime factor in our lives
The lack of stability and security also creates a Void.
We are unconsciously seeking “What Next!”
We are not living in the moment
We worry so much about “What Next!”
And most spiritual gurus will advocate meditation because meditation is totally based on the concept of “The Moment” and of “Self-realization.”
It talks about something as basic as concentrating on your breathe to relieve stress;
Why? Because this is the problem with our lives. We forget the basic thing that we are living and breathing, alive and kicking, and that’s is a miracle, called Life.
Everything else is a farce, an illusion, a tomorrow that may just not be there?
What say?
Theemptyhead says:
Well…all this translates to the fact that we need to live slowly, looking around and appreciate the value of each of those moments.
Felinemusings says:
Yes, maybe we need to let Life unfold its mysteries and take on the challenges, each moment as it comes – there is no PERFECT world
Theemptyhead says:
Perfection is a myth… but it is another myth like God. You cannot live without aiming to reach it.
Felinemusings says:
I learnt this lesson in my transition from single hood to married status – the myth of the Perfect World
. So just hang on there and let it be -you can’t even imagine the certainty of change or the uncertainty of life.
We may or may not be in No-Man’s Land, but we are definitely No-One in the magnitude of the Cosmos.
…. And this discussion ensued further on the need to connect with nature, the need to read, the need to take on life’s challenges as they come; winning each battle to finally win the war …. And amidst all this emerged the need to reflect and share your deepest reflections with likeminded souls vibrating on a similar frequency.
