Mirror Mirror on the wall …

Mirror Souls are faceless and formless … I have never peered into the eyes of a human soul; I do not know the texture of its skin, or the color of its eyes; I have never seen a soul wrapped in silks and weighed down by jewels. For that matter I have never known a soul measured in inches, or weighed on a scale.

And yet I have known souls that have touched me deep within, caused ripples in the recesses of my heart, jogged my memory, triggered positive emotions and encouraged my mental faculties to seek, strive, achieve and gain.

I have known mature mentors, cherished friends and magnetic companions who didn’t make a fashion statement and neither were the most gorgeous bodies or endearing faces that walked the earth. I would never have noticed them had their souls not reached out to my soul. I have known the beauty of communion with soul mates who have made my life so complete, because I cannot see them and thus cannot judge or categorize them based on looks and riches.

All around me I see an intense obsession with physical attributes and materialistic possessions. Like the troubled step-mother in the fairy tale - Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs - most people around us are self-obsessing about their looks and some reach the pinnacles of self-gloating and some of self-loathing as they gaze at the looking glass!!

The mirror on the wall is just a reflection, a lie, and only a display of the physical. Our coffers are filled, but our coffins will be empty; after the body decays only memories will remain and they will not be seen in the looking glass, but in the tears and smiles of those who remember the goodness of your soul.

I wish to transcend the barriers of physical appearances and attributes … and reach where the soul reigns supreme. I too wish for a magical mirror, and then I would whisper, “Mirror-mirror on the wall… Show me the goodness within all!
