It typically snows there in January, and has a couple of decent hotels in case one is looking for a family outing. But if one likes more offbeat kind of places, they can head towards nearby Deoban (16 Kms), and Kanasar (26 Kms). One of my friend stayed overnight with his group in the Kanasar rest house where there is no electricity, and they had to cook food on bonfire. Other nearby places i have read on the net are Budher and Mori. I guess now with a better vehicle for this terrain at my command i might head out again on this route.
