Chocolate glaze for the cake

Baking is addictive. Having experimenting with various cakes over the weekends, I finally decided to move on to the next stage in sinful culinary mechanisms – decorating the cake. As always the first favorite is anything to do with chocolate and I experimented with chocolate glaze this weekend. I first baked the tried and tested Coffee-Cinnamon-Vanilla Cake and then followed this recipe for the glaze ….

A similar incident was reported by a relative, who sneakily snipped off the greeny stalk and leaves of a cauliflower, on one occasion, and got away with it. The next time she was purchasing cauliflower at the grocers, he politely forewarned her not to tamper with the vegetable. Of course, these incidents become subjects of hilarious dinner-time anecdotes. However, in recent times, most of us can do well by pulling a page or two out of the miser’s user manual.

Many people believe that having a technical bent of mind, or college degree, is the key to success in this field. This is only partially true, because the master key of this field is held in the word “writing.” To become a successful technical writer, it is imperative to be a writer, i.e. to have the required dexterity to write and express effectively. With a generous sprinkling of common sense, the power of observation, the desire to experiment and learn, innovate and initiate and ample research and analysis, one can embark upon this career and continue to gain knowledge of the technical bits.


Are we speeding towards the Era of Desensitization?

Our senses are being assaulted with so much distressing news that we have slowly becoming accustomed to listening, watching, discussing and then walking away from taking any responsibility. The fact is that we have undergone the psychological process of desensitization, which states that continued exposure to media violence undermines feelings of concern, empathy, or sympathy that viewers might have toward victims of actual violence.
